About the role:
As the Product Development Director for Exterior Wood Coatings and Fire Retardant Coatings, you will lead our global development teams and labs to deliver innovative, sustainable, and market-driven solutions. You’ll ensure timely and cost-effective product development in alignment with our strategic roadmaps, while contributing to Teknos' overall business goals and profitability.
Your leadership will guide projects from conceptualization to commercialization, fostering collaboration across teams and ensuring standardized, efficient processes globally. You can be located in any of Teknos’ European sites, and you will report to Chief Portfolio Development Officer and act as a part of global Portfolio Development leadership team. As the role is global, it includes frequent travelling mainly across Europe.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership: Lead and develop global R&D teams, fostering innovation and collaboration while driving alignment with Teknos’ strategies.
Strategic Direction: Ensure timely execution of product development projects in line with roadmaps, focusing on sustainable and market-driven solutions.
Portfolio Optimization: Collaborate with Product Management to develop and manage optimized, competitive, and sustainable product portfolios.
Standardization: Implement standardized processes across labs to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Support commercial teams by engaging with customers, suppliers, and partners to meet market demands effectively.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven leadership experience in global product development roles from chemical industry, preferably within the coatings industry.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align technical innovation with business goals.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and geographies.
- Educational background: Advanced degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
